Рассмотрено содержание монографии Т. Ф. Каратыгиной «Свети, и будет светло. Профессиологические штудии» (Москва : Экон-Информ, 2015. - 507 с.) с позиций подготовки библиотечных кадров XXI века. Освещён вклад Т. Ф. Каратыгиной в развитие библиотечной профессиологии в контексте исторической персонификации. Подчёркнута актуальность формирования профессионального сознания как важнейшего фактора поддержания высокого престижа библиотечной профессии. Охарактеризована связь между повышением качества библиотечно-информационного образования и мотивацией обучения.

The monograph by T.F. Karatygina «Sveti, i budet svetlo. Professiologicheskie shtudii» [ “Shine! and the light will be. Professiological studies” ] (Moscow: Econ-Inform, 2015. - 507 p.) is reviewed from the viewpoint of library professional training. T.F. Karatygina’s contribution in library professionology is examined within the context of historical personification. The relevance of forming professional mentality as the major factor of the high quality of library profession today is emphasized. The interconnection between facilitation of library and information education and learning motivation is characterized.
