University library communities: The experience of the Cultural Center at Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University

Abstract

The activities of the Cultural Center at Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (BFU) is based on the complex approach integrating innovative SMM, efficient community involvement, and implementation of digital resources. Inspiring and authentic content in social media, based on deep understanding of young adults, enables the Cultural Center not only to promote its services but also to educate its loyal and enthusiastic community of the academic library. The powerful infrastructure enables to provide access to diverse digital resources integrated in the learning process via the partnerships with the faculty and proactive awareness building through every channel available, including media. These strategies of the BFU Cultural Center contribute to the students’ cultural satisfaction and strengthen its status as a competitive regional agent in culture and education in the context of saturated information environment.
