LIBRARY AND INFORMATION ACTIVITIES: THEORY AND PRACTICE

5-14 383
Abstract
The author examines the role of libraries in science support. He conceptualizes multicompetence of library undergraduate students in science information acquisition and processing; specifies librarians’ professional role within modern science information infrastructure; and compares the competences required under the Federal Standards of Higher Professional Education (FGOS VPO) to those needed for efficient science support. The author concludes that future librarians have to get specific knowledge and skills at universities so they could be successful in the labor market. It is emphasized that the existing government standards of higher professional education specify only frame requirements to graduates’ competences.

Abstract
The findings of the user survey held in 2015 are discussed. One of the survey goals was to examine the impact of the location on users’ work. The balance of user categories in the new building, the subject scope of user queries in 2015, characteristics of using the Library’s aggregate information resources are specified. The days of the most intensive use and users’ recommendations on the Library’s schedule are revealed. The Library’s key methodological solutions for users are listed.

SCIENTOMETRICS. BIBLIOMETRICS

37-43 800
Abstract
Methods to calculate several scientometric indicators used in The Map of Russian Science information analytical system and appropriate context to interpret these indicators are discussed. The need to limit type of publications by cited objects is emphasized. The “impact factor” indicator for journals and “cumulative (aggregate) impact factor of journals” and “average weighted (average) impact factor of journals” where researcher’s (institution’s) articles are published, are analyzed. The methods to calculate these indicators in The Map of Russian Science are discussed, along with the procedure for Hirsch index and G-index. The article is prepared within the framework of the Government Order for the year 2016 for “Information and Analytical Support and development of The Map of Russian Science Information System”.

Abstract
The findings of the scientometric analysis of national journals in library science and bibliography are presented. Based on Science Index data, the rating of the journals under the subject headings “Culture” and “Information Studies” of the Russian Science Citation Index by citations number, number of citations excluding self-citation, two-year impact-factor, and two-year impact factor excluding self-citation is drawn up. The authors argue that these results can be extrapolated on the national library science. The article is based on the paper presented at the Second World Professional Forum “The Book. Culture. Education. Innovations” - “Crimea-2016”.
