The Great Patriotic War on newspaper pages: characteristics, features and differences of some virtual projects
Abstract
The article considered several projects which dedicated to the feat of the people of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War.
Virtual projects are described in detail: “The Great Patriotic War through the eyes of Soviet journalists. TASS presents the events of 1945 in front-line reports and newspaper articles of that time ”(January 19 - May 16, 1945) TASS; a series of articles by the information agency "Udmurtia" on newspapers of the period of the Great Patriotic War (January 30, 1942 - May 9, 1945). They are also compared with the project of the National Library of Belarus “100 days before the Great Victory. Through the pages of the Belarusian newspapers in 1945 " (January 30 - May 9, 1945) according to the purpose of creation, content and scale of the information reflected, sources, structure of news articles, chronological coverage, implementation. The projects interestingly and informatively reveal the chronicle of the days on the eve of Victory, showing the heroism of people in the rear and at the front. They also demonstrate the information potential of newspaper sources of that time.
The following projects are briefly described: the Gomel Regional Universal Library named after V. I. Lenin "Echo of Victory" (May 9, 1945 - 2020) and the joint multimedia project of BelTA and the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War "Chronicle of Victory: Memory Needs Alive ... ".
The experience of creating these projects can be useful when designing similar virtual projects or other electronic information resources.
