Abstract
The research productivity could be assessed both by absolute and relative metrics. The author explains the essence of the Hirsh index and demonstrates how it is calculated. The author refers to the Russian Citation Index database to demonstrate the personal bibliometric indices of the number of the well known in the library community authors, so one could compare his/her own evaluations with the bibliometric data. In conclusion, the bibliometry potential to evaluate large scale scientific trends is revealed.

Abstract
The author examines new concepts (structural and complex sciences) introduced into the theory of philosophical classification of sciences in the recent decades. We got used to speak about cycles of sciences - natural, social and humanities, about applied sciences (medical, agricultural, technical, etc.). We already know that in LBC the class of general scientific and interdisciplinary knowledge is developed. The author attempts to connect in uniform the system terms and concepts - known, already traditional, with new, offered recently, and to show how to use them in the Library and Bibliographic Classification (LBC).

Abstract
The monograph by T.F. Karatygina «Sveti, i budet svetlo. Professiologicheskie shtudii» [ “Shine! and the light will be. Professiological studies” ] (Moscow: Econ-Inform, 2015. - 507 p.) is reviewed from the viewpoint of library professional training. T.F. Karatygina’s contribution in library professionology is examined within the context of historical personification. The relevance of forming professional mentality as the major factor of the high quality of library profession today is emphasized. The interconnection between facilitation of library and information education and learning motivation is characterized.
