Abstract
Critical conditions in the Russian book industry, i.e. book reading dysfunction, scaling down of library networks and bibliographical infrastructure, are characterized. Positives and negatives of bibliosphere and Internet-sphere interaction are discussed. The author demonstrates that library book collections make the strategic resource to be used for humanization of Russian society in the 21st century. Strategies for documentosphere informatization and humanization are examined; current problems of library and bibliographic studies are formulated.

Abstract
Objective preconditions and problems of forming term-system of the subject area of digital information resources are examined. The vocabulary used for describing digital information resources within the contents of the www-sites of RF subjects’ central libraries is assessed. The findings of the analysis of international and RF national terminology standards in the area of digital information resources are introduced.

Abstract
How did the profession of the librarian become recognized by the society? The author emphasizes the role of Melvil Dewey (1851-1931) in the organization of the first library journal (The Library Journal, 1876, USA), creation of the first library society (American Library Association, 1876), declaration of the library profession as an independent one, entry of professionally trained women into libraries. He addresses the problems of interdependence between the library profession and the civil society organizations in contemporary Russia. He also scrutinizes on what factors the prestige of a profession depend.

Abstract
The relevance of the typology of information ethical situations at the present stage of development of higher education in Russia is justified and the author's typology of such situations is presented. The typology is based on three attributes: types of violations of information ethics as a key feature; situation conditions and groups of actors involved in situations as the additional features. This article was prepared within the framework of a research project № 15-03-00049 “Information ethics of modern Russian university community” supported by the Russian Foundation for Humanities.

Abstract
Review of the book: Gordukalova G. F., Zakharchuk T. V., Pleshkevich E. A. Dokumentovedenije. Ch. 1. Obshcheje dokumentovedenije [The Document Science. Part 1. General Document Science. A textbook / Sc. Editor G. V. Mikheeva. - St. Petersburh : Professija, 2013. - 319 p.]. Main provisions of the document theory comprised in the textbook intended for bachelors in library and bibliographic studies are examined. The authors conclude that the textbook content is more focused on ‘library and bibliographic document studies’ which title therefore would be more appropriate. Several definitions and provisions are specified.
